• Alderfer/Three Sisters Park and Satellite Boulders

Me and Dale have been in CO for 2 and a half days now, and the rest day couldn’t feel better. The weather is incredible, it’s been dry and pleasant the whole time we’ve been here. On Friday we rolled into Parker, CO to stay with his aunt at about 4:00 AM local time, meaning we knocked out the trip in 23.5 hrs including stops. Killed it.

For some strange reason, we woke up 5 hrs later ready to go, so we rolled out to Boulder to try out the Satellite boulders at the base of the flatirons. The best problem we got on there was a v4 called Original Grapple. Awesome moves out a roof, but the rock quality was a bit lacking. Dale managed to flash and I spent the day falling off the last move, so we’ll see, hopefully it will go early next week. All in all, a pretty cool area, the proximity to Boulder and the scenery make up for any lack in rock quality.

Day two, we made the haul out past Morrison to Evergreen, where we spent the day at Alderfer/Three Sisters Park. This place is gorgeous. Awesome, relatively flat hikes between boulders of high quality in an awesome setting make it well worth the trip. The video I threw together highlights a couple of our favorites of the day. Unfortunately I missed Dale sending Wisdom, which was definitely the highlight of the day. Super tall and super classic.

I can’t stand to spend too much time in front of the computer while I’m hanging out here, so I’m gonna have to get back outside. Plans include Flagstaff tomorrow and Emerald Lake in the Park on Tuesday, so it should be a blast!

George is a student studying civil engineering at Clemson University. He somehow manages to find time to climb between staring at formula sheets and whining about how busy he is. When he’s not doing either of the former, he gets distracted by climbing pictures and videos on the web, which leads to more complaining about his schedule. He spends most of his weekends bouncing around the southeast bouldering with a little posse from Clemson as well as occasionally poking around the hills of South Carolina in search of new problems.
